When you see the servicemen and women of this country fighting for our futures on foreign soil you wander what you can do to help them. Well how about rocking out?

Scream Lounge is holding an all-day rock festival on Saturday with some of Croydon's best metal bands taking to the stage.

There will also be plenty of prizes on offer, including a customised Metallica Les Paul Junior guitar, as well as drum clinics and a massive Monster Energy truck outside.

Rick Hicks, from South London Promotions and music management company Frantic Promotions who organised the event, said: "We wanted to raise awareness for the charity as we have friends who have been wounded in recent conflicts.

"So we pulled in a few favours from our industry contacts to create this fundraising event to combine a live music event with exhibitors from Blackstar Amps, Ashdown and guitar supplier Feline.

"All the money raised will be spent by Help for Heroes to transform the lives of wounded service personnel."

Owner of Scream Lounge, Aide Aires, added: "We are delighted to be the venue of choice for this event.

"Rick and his Frantic team never fail to make a splash with the events they produce and it’s a great opportunity to support a worthwhile charity."

Doors open at 2pm with Blackstar Amps providing a full set of rigs you can try out, a Guitar Hero competition and London Drum Company hosting drum clinics.

There will then be a chance to win the Metallica guitar donated by Gibson/Epiphone and other prizes in a raffle.

The music starts at 5pm and features the bands detailed below.
